SCG Canada Inc. was formed as a direct means to provide hardware, software and training solutions for discerning clients who need custom tools for mission critical applications. SCG Canada Inc. is based in Ottawa, Canada and can be reached via info@scgcanada.com.
Our History
Experience and expertise
A number of important milestones have occurred over the last decade.
These events have collectively led to a capability known as the CFID.
Intelligence
Special Reconnaissance
This type of reconnaissance (recce) can include situations where operators are required to make entry into a location that belongs to or is associated with a target of interest. The CFID could be used to covertly collect data from any digital media devices discovered on target.
Sensitive Site Exploitation
SSE can be conducted after a combat action has concluded in a particular location. The CFID could be used to collect data from devices that would be left on target or returned to individuals that are in the target location.
Warrant Searches
A specific search conducted for a specific device. The warrant could indicate that the phone of interest cannot be held for more than a certain amount of time and needs to be extracted immediately. The CFID could be used to quickly gather the user data on the device without having to leave the suspect’s location.
Interviews
A person of interest is taken into custody on target and is being questioned on target to determine if they are hostile or not. The CFID could be used to image any of these individuals’ devices to provide information that assists in determining whether the person will be released or not.
Undercover Work
UC (under cover) individuals have an opportunity to gather intelligence on a suspect by imaging their personal media device. This is a target of opportunity that may have been unplanned for so the UC uses the CFID to quickly gather as much data as possible from the device.
General Digital Forensic Investigations
The device is a simple to use portable device that creates forensic images of digital media devices and can be used on target or in a lab. The image formats are non proprietary and can be imported into most digital forensic software either commercial or open-source.
Border Services & Immigration
If officers have the authority to collect data from media devices of people travelling through their border, the CFID allows for easily collecting data from devices in a forensic manner by officers with very little training to do so.
Checkpoints
An Individual is carrying a media device while transitioning through a checkpoint. The CFID can be easily used to quickly image the device while the individual is being questioned.
Law Enforcement
